Max Loustalot

Hi, I'm Max!

Being one of the oldest kids in the family, I have always gravitated toward being a caretaker. Whether it was watching my little cousins, younger siblings, or even the little neighbor next door, I thrived in an environment where I could step into the role of nurturer. At 19, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to New York City from my hometown of Santa Cruz, CA. During that 5 year period, I had the honor of being in the room with my best friend as she bravely and fiercely delivered her first son. This experience re-sparked my love for the process of labor and delivery. After completing a degree of Bachelors in Fine Arts at Parsons the New School for Design, I decided to make my way back out west and pursue my ultimate passion, working in the birth community, I’ve lived in Portland now for the past 5 years, and love to call this beautiful city home. I have been a practicing labor doula here in Portland for the past year, after completing my certification at Birthingway College of Midwifery. My ultimate goal is to create a safe space for all involved in the beautiful process of birth. I look forward to working with you and your family to bring your new addition into the world!

Max and her partner live in the beautiful Mississippi area of Portland, OR with their two dogs, Whitaker and Willie. She spends much of her free time indulging in photography, being around family and friends, and keeping a keen eye on her plant babies.

"Maxine was the absolute best! She gave me the support that I needed during my labor! She was so encouraging, and just my absolute everything during that time! I will always dearly appreciate her. And plan on contacting her again, when we decide to have our third!" - Client

"Max was a great blend of friendly, calm, and supportive but really allowed the couple to shine. She helped throughout the day both physically and emotionally but was very balanced and respectful to the rest of the medical team. She's going to do great! Thanks for your help!" - L&D Nurse

"She is a badass! Not only was she amazing support before the birth of my son, but continued to check in after lockdown." - Client B
