The Birth Doula provides physical, emotional and informational support to the laboring parent and their family/birth team. This person is an advocate, a voice, a constant listener, a non-judgmental support, and a dutiful space-holder. A Birth Doula offers assistance both physically and emotionally and often aids in clarifying any miscommunication between Care Providers and the laboring Mama. They find ways the partner/birth team can help and continuously work as a team to support the birthing person. A Birth Doula can be an incredibly invaluable support while bringing a little one earth-side.
